/How it works
  1. Maps your code

Perch parses the repo with tree-sitter and maps each method’s callers and callees.

  2. Checks each change

Perch runs your rules and its bug and security scans on every changed method.

  3. Comments on the PR

Perch fails the check and comments on the code it flags.

Questions

How is Perch billed?

10¢ per 1,000 rule checks, about 20¢ for a typical pull request. Answers are cached, so unchanged code is free and gets the same result every run. Your first $5 is free, and you don’t need a card to start.

What does Perch check if I haven’t written any rules?

Every changed method, for defects and security issues: off-by-one loops, unchecked empty values, weak hashing, and missing authorization. Your rules in perch.yaml run alongside.

Which languages does it support?

Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Go, Rust, Java, Kotlin, C, C++, C#, Swift, Ruby, PHP, and six more.

Do you train on my code?

No. Findings are deleted 30 days after each scan, and the privacy policy says where code goes.

Does it work with GitLab?

Perch Cloud reviews GitHub pull requests. The open-source CLI also runs in GitLab CI.
